Is the marble Bengal cat Bengal cat a real species?
I ask as it looks totally different to that of silver, Brown and Snow Spotted types Bengal cat. They have all placemarks and resemble a leopard. Does the Marble Bengal leopard blood even as the rest? Not at all like leopard for me.
The Bengal is a relatively new hybrid type of cat developed to have a peaceful and friendly temperament, while exhibiting the markings (such as large spots, rosettes, and a light / white belly), and body structure reminiscent of wild Asian Leopard Cat. In other words, a Bengal cat has a desirable "wild" appearance with a gentle domestic cat temperament. There are three varieties of domestic cat that developed from bengal (though there are many subspecies are still considered as "pure): The Serengeti Cat – developed from crosses with Oriental or Siamese with the aim to produce a domestic cat mimicking the appearance of an African Serval, without actually incorporating Serval genes by hybridization. The Toyger – developed from crosses domestic cats to produce a striped toy 'El Tigre Cheetoh – an attempt to blend two existing domestic breeds of spotted cats with defined characteristics (Bengal and Ocicat), in a third.
